In 1st grade American composer Libby Larsen was taught to write music, by high school was composing. Now her repertoire includes over 600 published works. She co-founded the American Composers Forum, in 1973 with Stephen Paulus and continues to be a strong advocate for artists. Her honors include a Grammy, the Harissios Papamarkou Chair in Education and the McKnight Distinguished Artist Award.

Larsen co-founded the Minnesota Composers Forum, now the American Composers Forum, in 1973 with Stephen Paulus and continues to be a strong advocate for composers and musicians. Over her prolific career she has been honored with numerous awards including a Grammy, holding the Harissios Papamarkou Chair in Education at the Library of Congress and the recipient of the 2016 McKnight Distinguished Artist Award.
